UAIL Observes International Women’s Day with Enthusiasm
Rayagada, :(Kishan Sharma)-9/3: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by Utkal Alumina International Ltd, a unit of Hindalco Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, at Doraguda under Tikiri in Rayagada district. The celebration was organized at the Club House in Nuapada Township and witnessed active participation from women employees and company leadership.
On this occasion, Deputy Collector Ms. Rupali Patra (OAS) and Assistant Collector Ms. Lipsa Patel (ORS) attended the programme as guests. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Patra stated that in the present era women have demonstrated excellence across various sectors. She encouraged women not to limit themselves but to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills to become self-reliant.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Patel emphasized that education is the most powerful instrument of transformation. She noted that from ancient times to the modern era, education has played a significant role in bringing positive change in the lives of women. She further highlighted that society is largely shaped by women and therefore empowering them through education and awareness is essential for meaningful social progress.
Unit Head and President Mr. Rabi Narayan Mishra, in his address, remarked that women have always been revered in society and that progress within families and communities is not possible without their support and contribution. He acknowledged the sacrifices women make for their families and emphasized that societal development is unimaginable without their active participation.
More than 100 women employees of the company participated in the programme. At the beginning of the event, Head of Security Mr. Vishwajeet Jowardar conducted an awareness session on the safe use of domestic LPG cylinders and safety measures during emergency situations.
The programme was also attended by departmental heads including Mr. Narayan Mitra, Mr. Uttam Giri, Ms. Lopamudra Priyadarshini, Mr. Pitambar Behera, Ms. Madhumita Mondal and others.
