*Nuapada Collector Inaugurates Wild Honey Processing Unit at sunabeda*

Collector, Nuapada inaugurated the first Honey processing unit at Sunabeda, supported By ORMAS Nuapada.
The Honey Processing Unit will be managed by Sunabeda Naturals Honey Producer Enterprises which has been formed by ORMAS, Nuapada with the active participation of Chakotia Bhunjia Tribal Community. Such community members will collect wild honey from Sunabeda Forest and sell directly to the Enterprise. This will create opportunities for livelihood generation and promotion of locally sourced forest honey. Chakotia Bhunjia Development Agency has also extended support for establishing the enterprise.
This initiative aims to promote sustainable livelihoods, strengthen tribal entrepreneurship and support the economic empowerment of Chakotia Bhunjia Tribal Community through value addition and marketing by ORMAS, Nuapada of wild forest honey.
Collector, Nuapada said that the production of honey will be increases by two times by this initiative and customer will get pure and organic wild honey in a best price. This honey will also available in the district website www.nuapadahaat.com.
DFO (Wild Life) said that they will open an outlet at Forest Check Gate at Cherechuan where this honey will be made available for the local public and tourists.

CEO- ORMAS were present.
